Cloud Import

Overview

Cloud Import takes the export archives the big clouds give you — a Google Takeout download, or individual contact and calendar files — and unpacks them into the right Grown apps. Drop a file, watch the job run, and your contacts, events and files land where they belong.

Features

• Drag-and-drop upload. Drop an export archive onto the page, or pick a file — no fiddly multi-step wizard.
• Google Takeout. Upload the .zip or .tgz from takeout.google.com containing Contacts, Calendar, Drive, Gmail and/or Photos.
• Individual files. Bring single .vcf (contacts), .ics (calendar) and .mbox (mail) files — handy for Apple Contacts and Calendar exports.
• Routed to the right app. Contacts go to Contacts, calendar events (with recurrence rules) go to Calendar, and files under Drive/ go to your Drive.
• Photos detection. Photos in an archive are detected and you're pointed to Immich for the photo library.
• Live job progress. Each upload becomes a job that polls in real time, with a per-item breakdown — Contacts, Calendar, Drive, Photos, Mail — and a done / skipped / error status and count for each.
• Import history. Past jobs stay listed so you can see exactly what was brought in and when.

How it works

An uploaded archive is posted to the import service, which creates a job and processes its contents server-side. The page polls the job until it finishes, showing each item kind's status as it goes. Contacts and calendar events are parsed and written into your workspace; Drive files are copied in; photos are counted and handed off to Immich.
